Copper or Aluminum wires are coated with a number of concentric layers or passes of insulating enamel film. The wire is then wound in

the form of a coil to produce a magnetic field.

 

The enamel coating on the wire is required withstand the mechanical, electrical, thermal and chemical stresses expected during operation. Accordingly these wires are made for the rated thermal class as per usage

requirements.
